Reconstruction

Sometimes in the life of an instrument, it has been rebuilt or altered either mechanically or tonally beyond recognition from its original manufacturer’s condition.

You may believe it is in the best interest of your chamber and/or congregation to reconstruct the lost integrity of this fine instrument. It’s important to first understand if the core instrument is mechanically, tonally, and functionally solid. If the instrument is solid and you believe that it merits the detailed work involved in restoration, then we can help you bring the instrument back to the wonder of its original condition.

You can look at reconstruction as a “turning back in time”; you’re turning back the alterations and changes that have occurred during the life of the organ, returning it to its original state. Patrick J. Murphy & Associates has experience reconstructing instruments, such as the two shown here.
